The ACC Hong Kong Board of Directors invites you to the following exclusive presentation, hosted by Kobre & Kim
International illicit trade, intellectual property theft, counterfeiting, and other unfair competition practices continue to threaten multinational corporations conducting business in the PRC and Southeast Asia. Traditional investigation and civil legal remedies are often ineffective to deter or stop this behavior. This presentation will discuss “offensive investigation” techniques that can be used to deter and stop unlawful practices and restore lost revenue through a combination of asset recovery tools and by working with prosecution authorities to enforce against and obtain restitution from wrongdoers.
This seminar will present (1) cross-border legal civil asset recovery and forfeiture tools in Hong Kong, Offshore jurisdictions, the United States, and in certain civil law jurisdictions used legitimately to disrupt financing and supply lines; as well as (2) best practices for liaising with criminal and regulatory authorities in various jurisdictions to assist with criminal investigations against wrongdoers to combat and deter unfair competition and to obtain restitution. The seminar will use past case examples where cooperation with criminal authorities has been successful deployed.
