TOPIC: Amendments in HK Corporate Insolvency Regime
For some years, Hong Kong’s corporate insolvency regime has been seen as increasingly out of date and ripe for amendment, particularly after the new Companies Ordinance came into force in 2014.
Following a long consultation process, the primary legislation governing corporate insolvency, the Companies (Winding Up and Miscellaneous Provisions) Ordinance, has been amended, with the amendments coming into effect on 13 February 2017.
Richard Hudson of Deacons will explain the main changes that have been enacted, look at some of the key transitional provisions, and will discuss the further amendments that may be made in the near future. This talk will be of particular interest to in-house counsel who encounter corporate insolvency issues during the course of their work.
SPEAKER: Richard Hudson, Partner, Deacons
